AITA for not letting my college friend stay in my apartment during vacation

Hi all! Please share your thoughts on this situation. Thank you (in advance) for being kind
I (31F) live in foreign country along with my husband. We both work here and have a spacious unit with multiple rooms. We have gladly accommodated family and friends who have visited us in the past.
My college friend living in my home country has been planning to visit us (country) for vacation along with her husband & 3yr old kid. This is their 1st international trip. The flights

and attraction tickets were booked by her in advance. She is supposed to land this week. She was planning to stay at our place to save up on hotel accommodation and food expense
while continuing to explore this country(We live in 1 of the most expensive countries in the world)
Last week, my husband got sick- fever and body aches; unfortunately got diagnosed with a highly conious 'adult chicken pox' mid week. We have no idea from where he caught
this inf tion. Both me and husband never got chicken pox before ; neither are we vaccinated for chickenpox. He is in active phase of blisters
coming up on body and is quarantined in separate room in the apartment but has to access common area for washroom.

The moment we got the confirmation on diagnosis from GP, I informed my friend and requested her to look for alternate
accommodation options(hotels, airbnbs) as it will be risky for her and family to come and stay at our inted apartment.
Being the people pleaser that I am, I already feel extremely bad about the situation. Though we couldn't have predicted the infection- it's
still bugging me that I failed my friend. I also feel somewhere that my friend's reaction/response to the situation was cold
and sounded as if I was responsible for ruining her plans and she will be suffering losses/ spending high amount on accommodation + food.
I did offer my help in any way possible. I was ghosted for 2 days straight. I still checked with our colleagues(the only people we know in this country) if anyone can accommodate the friend and family in their apartments but no luck.

Star-Struck-Wonderer You are being a responsible adult, she's not. Don't burden yourself with thinking about her being cold. What would happen, for example, if you ended up in a hospital, or if you husband had Co id? Would she still want to stay in your apartment? You did good. Look after yourself and you husband, and I'm wishing you quick recovery.
rhunter99 Nta. Your friend is being incredibly stupid. As someone else said help them find accommodation, but don't feel bad about something not in your control Get the shingles vaccine when you hit your 50s!
chirp4 Don't feel bad and don't change your mind. Even if they are fine being s ck, your husband deserves to recover in peace and quiet. A real friend would acknowledge this and understand. Ghosting you is petty bulls reflection of her selfishness. and a
